Mayor Faulconer Opens San Diego’s Largest Co-working Tech Startup Space

Mayor Commits $40,000 to Help Spur San Diego Startups & Jobs

San Diego – Continuing his mission to fortify San Diego innovation jobs and opportunities for residents with city support, Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer cut the ribbon today on NEST, one of San Diego’s largest co-working spaces for tech startups and innovation.   

Covering more than 16,000 square feet, the newly-opened NEST tech incubator reflects San Diego’s fast-growing hi-technology and cybersecurity sectors and Mayor Faulconer’s commitment to growing San Diego’s innovation economy. Under Mayor Faulconer’s leadership, the City issued a $40,000 grant to create NEST and helped spur more startups and jobs across the city. The space is currently fully leased with 42 resident members and is expected to grow to 80 companies by mid-2017.
