Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 - NEWS RELEASE

San Diego – In line with his mission to help encourage and uplift San Diego’s underserved communities, Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer joined Words Alive, a nonprofit organization that provides literacy support services to low-income, at-risk children, teens and families, for their annual “Share Your Love of Reading” campaign.

Last year, elected officials, professional athletes and media personalities from across San Diego joined Words Alive and read books aloud to children. This year, Mayor Faulconer read The Perfect Nest to a 1st grade classroom at Golden Hill Elementary.  For more information about the Words Alive literacy campaign, please visit, www.wordsalive.org.
