New York – From innovations in biotechnology and cyber security, to its unique proximity to Mexico and the Pacific, to a dynamic start-up community, San Diego is rising as a global hub for business, trade and investment. Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer headed to America’s largest media market, New York City, to raise San Diego’s national profile as a city that offers entrepreneurs and companies an environment in which they can thrive.
Mayor Faulconer appeared in three live, nationally-broadcast interviews today: CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” the Wall Street Journal Live’s “Lunch Break” and Bloomberg News’ “Bottom Line” and discussed San Diego’s strategies for fostering its innovation economy and talented workforce.
As part of his commitment to create more job opportunities for San Diego, Faulconer shared how the City of San Diego and the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corp. have supported local biological, green, clean, cyber and high technology companies to become leaders in their sectors.
Mayor Faulconer also interviewed with various online and print news outlets, including The New York Times, Bloomberg News, CNN Money and Fortune, about San Diego’s financial turnaround, fiscal reforms and collaboration with the Baja California region.
Attracting business investment and talent to San Diego helps to grow the regional economy and expand the local tax base, providing resources the City can use to improve neighborhoods and infrastructure.
