Mayor Turns San Diego Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Faulconer Flips the Switch & Launches Breast Cancer Awareness at Serra Museum

Wednesday, October 08, 2014 - NEWS RELEASE

San Diego, CA – At the Junípero Serra Museum perched high above the Interstate 8, Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer joined his wife, Katherine, and Susan G. Komen San Diego to flip the switch and illuminate the iconic museum in bright pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The event launched a county-wide “See Pink, See San Diego” campaign with Susan G. Komen San Diego for the month of October. The campaign encourages residents and businesses across the county to turn all things pink, from building lights to employee uniforms, to raise breast cancer awareness. During the event, Mayor Faulconer and Komen San Diego honored and showed support for breast cancer survivors, those currently battling the disease and those we have lost.
