SAN DIEGO –Earlier today Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer welcomed Dr. J. Dennis Cradit to San Diego as San Diego State University’s new dean of Business Administration. Prior to becoming SDSU’s new business college dean, Cradit rose to prominence in his community by maintaining a strong reputation in leading in innovation and economic development.

In 2012, serving as the Dean of the College of Business at Southern Illinois University (SIU), Cradit was named “Deputy to the Chancellor for Innovation and Economic Development” by the university’s president to focus the university’s energies toward regional engagement and economic development. While at SIU, Cradit also served in the public sector as a member of the Council of Economic Advisers for the Illinois Governor’s Office and Commissioner of the state’s Economic Recovery Commission.
