San Diego, CA – Continuing his mayoral pledge to help build One San Diego, Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer joined City Councilmember Marti Emerald and San Diego County YMCA President and CEO Baron Herdelin-Doherty, and some of the city’s most prolific philanthropic leaders in opening a new 53,000 square foot YMCA that will connect, strengthen and serve the City Heights, Talmadge and Kensington communities.

The new LEED-certified YMCA building in Mid-City San Diego features two pools, splash park, gymnasium, a spacious fitness and wellness center, group exercise rooms, a demonstration kitchen, preschool and school-age child care centers. The new building is located at 4300 El Cajon Blvd. and replaces the old building on Landis Street in City Heights.
