The Citywide Engagement program oversees citywide engagement strategies and programs, including biennial Resident Satisfaction and Employee Satisfaction surveys, and working with City departments to ensure that feedback loops exist at all customer touch points.
Employee Satisfaction Survey
The City's Employee Satisfaction Surveys (ESS) are conducted biennially -- most recently during February and March 2017 -- to gauge engagement and satisfaction in City workplaces. The ESS supports the following commitments in the City's Strategic Plan: Treating others as we would like to be treated; Valuing employees as partners; Recognizing that an engaged City workforce is the key to quality customer service; Promoting diversity as a strength; and Measuring results and seeking improvement in everything we do.
The results help the Mayor and City Management assess employees’ perceptions about job satisfaction, growth and recognition, management, teamwork, resources and communication, and work environment.

Resident Satisfaction Survey
The City's Resident Satisfaction Surveys (RSS) are conducted biennially -- most recently during November and December 2015 -- to gauge residents' satisfaction with City services. The results help City leaders make informed, data-driven decisions to better serve residents and provide responsive customer service. The next RSS is scheduled for late 2017.
