New Models of Urban Agriculture

On January 31, 2012 the City of San Diego amended its Municipal Code to accommodate new models of urban agriculture that increase access to healthy, local, and sustainable food. Included in the urban agriculture amendments were new regulations for farmers markets, retail farms, and local husbandry that make it easier for residents of the City to produce healthy foods locally. With regard to husbandry the City now allows single family homes to keep and maintain chickens, miniature goats, and bees.
