The UC San Diego Office of Innovation and Commercialization (OIC) is part of the Office of Research Affairs. The OIC has established a campus-wide innovation platform to build a systemic and sustainable innovation culture, to create a vibrant regional ecosystem, and to accelerate the commercialization of campus inventions. Workspaces and Labs
EnVision Maker Space is a creative workroom where visual arts and engineering communities converge to design, fabricate and prototype with tools ranging from 3-D printers to welding stations and a sophisticated laser cutter.
Geisel Library Digital Media Lab provides a space for media creation and editing for the campus community, including free 3-D printing, video and sound editing, media-rich website creation and basic productivity.
Qualcomm Institute Innovation Space is where qualified faculty startups, industry partners and national laboratories can lease office or lab space inside UC San Diego’s Qualcomm Institute. There is 6,000 square feet of space available on the second floor of Atkinson Hall.
Qualcomm Institute Prototyping Lab provides professional design services to the campus community with expertise in electrical, mechanical and software prototypes, as well as machining and measurement capabilities.
