Summer Youth Baseball & Softball: $20 for whole season (no uniform fee)
- The youth baseball and softball programs are designed to develop and enhance players’ fundamental skills on batting, catching, throwing, pitching and base running in a fun learning environment. The program is for children ages 10 to 15 years old, and teams are divided into age divisions.
Highlighted Summer Programs: FREE
- Parks Fit San Diego – June 12th through August 12th
Challenge: Walk, Run, Roll or Swim 30, 90, 120 miles between June 12th and August 12th. Choose one activity or mix it up. Track your miles and turn them in by due date for your Park Fit San Diego bag. For all ages.
- LEAN Kids Program: – Mondays and Fridays 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
Promotes making healthier choices and staying active. Participants will learn about nutritious foods, play sports and other physical activities. For ages 7 to 12 years.
- Movie in the Park: Free family outdoor movie featuring Moana on August 5 at dusk. For all ages.
On August 28, 1883, John Montgomery became the first person to achieve a controlled flight when he launched his glider aircraft from a hillside in Otay Mesa. In 1950, a silver, 90-foot wing from a World War II Consolidated B-24 Liberator bomber was dedicated to this site, and in 1964 the family of Luckie Waller donated a parcel of land next to the site for a park named after her son.
From Interstate 5 south take the Coronado Avenue exit and turn left. The center is at 3020 Coronado Ave.
From Interstate 805 south take the Palm Avenue exit and turn right. Travel west until you come to Beyer Boulevard. Turn left on Beyer and then turn left again on Coronado Avenue. The center is at 3020 Coronado Ave.
The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS Routes 929 and 932.
