La Jolla Reservoir Projects
Located in the community of La Jolla, the La Jolla View Reservoir and the La Jolla Country Club Reservoir & Pump Station projects will update existing facilities to meet current City standards, help reduce maintenance and energy costs; improve water quality and water supply reliability, and meet the increased water demands for the La Jolla community.
All efforts will be taken to minimize impacts to the residents and businesses in the community for both projects. The impacts may change as construction progresses. To help keep the community informed about the anticipated construction activities and impacts for both projects, updates will be emailed to subscribers as significant events occur.

La Jolla View Reservoir Project Overview
This project will demolish and replace the existing 720,000 gallon La Jolla View Reservoir, an above-ground water storage tank put in to service in 1949 located in the La Jolla Natural Park. In its place will be a new 3.1 million gallon underground reservoir that will be located at a higher elevation within the park and that will blend in with its natural surroundings. The project will also restore the site back to its original topography and condition and install 3,000 feet of 30-inch pipeline to connect the new reservoir to the City's water distribution system.
The project will also demolish and remove the existing 990,000 gallon La Jolla Exchange Place Reservoir, located near the corner of Country Club Dr. and Pepita Way. This partially above ground reservoir was built around 1909 placed out of service in 2002. The reservoir site will be backfilled and landscaped to blend in with the surroundings. The reservoir's pump station and pressure reducing station will continue in operation, supporting the local water distribution system.
La Jolla Country Club Reservoir & Pump Station Overview
This project will replace the existing 500,000 gallon reservoir put in to service in 1927 with a new concrete rectangular reservoir containing an increased storage capacity of 880,000 gallons. The new storage reservoir will be constructed within the existing reservoir footprint. The Pump Station will be upgraded with three new pumps that will be able provide over 3 million gallons per day.
