Karen Dennison is a Program Manager in the Performance & Analytics Department. She is responsible for the City of San Diego's strategic planning and performance management efforts.
Karen's contributions helped the City win awards for excellence in local government performance measurement from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Center for Performance Measurement and the National Center for Civic Innovation. In addition to performance management, Karen has also worked on managed competition, performed special projects for executive management, and served as the Acting Director for the Office of ADA Compliance & Accessibility from December 2012 to February 2014.
Prior to coming to the City of San Diego, Karen worked as an auditor for the County of San Diego and County of San Diego Grand Jury performing both financial statement and performance audits. Before that, Karen was a consultant with Accenture and KPMG working with clients in the financial services sector.
Karen graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a bachelor of arts degree in history. She is also certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt through UC San Diego Extension.
