Zaira Razu joined the Performance & Analytics Department in July 2018 as a Data Science Program Coordinator.
Prior to coming to the City of San Diego, Zaira worked as a researcher and program manager in several universities and think tanks. As the director of research at UCSD’s Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies, Zaira collaborated with public and private sector partners, using data to answer policy-relevant questions. Most recently, she worked on the collection and analysis of original data on education and workforce development practices in the San Diego-Tijuana border. She has also designed and evaluated randomized control trials and conducted quantitative analysis on health, education, and job training programs with the goal of generating evidence-based recommendations for local and international policymakers.
Zaira holds an MA in International Policy Studies from Stanford University and a BA in Political Science from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
