Megan's Law

California Attorney's Megan's Law requires that certain information about sex offenders be made available upon request to members of the public, so that the public is better prepared to protect themselves and their children.

The California Office of the Attorney General has developed the Megan's Law website where citizens can review information about registered sex offenders. Citizens are encouraged to review the website, which provides more specific information and in most cases a picture of the offender and the violations committed by the registrant.

Anyone who uses information contained in the Megan's Law database to commit a criminal act against another person is subject to criminal prosecution.
