Acknowledgements

The Program wishes to acknowledge the County of San Diego, Department of Public Works and the San Diego County Water Authority for their continued sponsorship and support. The AGC for their support and the myriad of training services provided to the protégés, the mentor protégé Advisory Board for their leadership and finally we would like to acknowledge the mentors who give of their time, in order for the protégé to benefit from their knowledge and experience.

Accomplishments

  • Successfully bid and performed on seven public school projects
  • Received new awards from U.S. Navy, and Children's Hospital
  • Received program paid services in the following areas - accounting, bookkeeping. CPA, forecasting, construction specific software, input and training
  • Attended program paid Construction Financial Management Association seminar
  • Increased annual sales from $314,799 to $4,000,000
  • Opened an additional office in Los Angeles
  • Successfully bid and performed on a $900,000 City of San Diego sewer project
  • Received program paid services in the following areas - accounting, bookkeeping. CPA, forecasting, construction specific software, input and training, legal and tax preparation services
  • Attended program paid Construction Financial management Association seminar
  • Increased annual sales from $148,000 to $800,000
  • Attended paid week-long Construction Project Management Course in Dallas, TX
  • Routinely bids City of San Diego projects - awarded two projects while a protégé
  • Successfully performed its single largest project and first contract over $1Million
  • Bonding capacity increased from $100,000 - $200,000 to $1,000,000 - $2,000,000
  • Transferred its surety from a collateralized program to an uncollateralized program
  • Increased staff from 2 full time employees to 3 full time employees and 3 part time employees
  • Computerized its estimating and bidding activities
  • Revamped its financial system and issued its first Reviewed Financial Statement since 1992
  • Received program paid services in the following areas - accounting, bookkeeping. CPA, forecasting, construction specific software, input and training, legal and tax preparation services
  • Attended program paid Construction Financial Management Association seminar
  • Increased annual sales from $314,799 to $4,000,000
  • Attended paid week-long Construction Project Management Course in Dallas, TX
