Renewed City Park Improves Water Quality & Recreational Opportunities

Pole Removal Ceremony for Project Block 1R, University City

The City of San Diego's Utilities Undergrounding Program marks another milestone as the final pole is removed for a project located in a University City neighborhood. In April 2009, work began to underground the utility lines along Pennant Way between Stresemann Street and Regents Road. The project placed 3.4 miles of overhead utility lines underground for 448 properties at a cost of $7.5 million.

National Public Works Week

Recognition of the City of San Diego's award winning projects have become an important part of National Public Works Week celebration. We anticipate the announcement of the 2012 award winners.

In 2011, Mayor Jerry Sanders lauded the City's public works professionals during National Public Works Week for winning 20 prestigious local and national awards for various capital improvement projects.
