38th Annual Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-off Festival

The 38th Annual Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off Festival on June 24, 2017, in the heart of Ocean Beach, showcases our community & business district to 70,000+ attendees of all ages. General admission is free.
The fair includes 5 stages of music, 65+ artisans in Artists Alley, a Chili Cook-Off competition, bloody mary & hamburger-eating competitions, an interactive music section, over 250 merchandise vendors, over 35 food vendors, a large children's area, a beer garden, and the painting of 2 community murals.

Poets and Painters Spoken Word and Graffiti Art Festival

The Poets and Painters Spoken Word and Graffiti Art Festival will be held at the Market Creek Amphitheater and Festival Park on Saturday, June 24, 2017. The venue is located at the Joe & Vi Jacobs Center, near the Euclid Avenue Transit Center and Market Creek Plaza. This free event will feature JCNI’s artists-in-residence: spoken word artist Gill Sotu, and internationally recognized Writerz Blok graffiti artists Jose Venegas and Sergio Gonzalez.

Cooper Family Juneteenth Celebration in San Diego

For over 50 years, the Cooper Family Foundation has celebrated the historical Emancipation Proclamation and end of US slavery through a one-day cultural festival known as Juneteenth. On June 17, 2017 this free event strives to provide an educational and culturally enriching event to the whole community that cultivates a sense of pride in African-American history and culture. Located on the 2800 block of Imperial Ave, the festival includes free entertainment, free food and community resources.

In celebration of its 31th anniversary and for the second straight year, the San Diego Festival of the Arts™ (formerly the La Jolla Festival of the Arts) will return to the County Administration Building Waterfront Park across from the Star of India on June 10 – 11, 2017. Boasting interactive fountains, intimate gardens, and views of the San Diego Harbor, the Waterfront Park is the quintessential destination for residents and visitors alike. The San Diego Festival of the Arts will host nearly 200 award-winning local and national artists at a two-day festival.

Each year the All 'Bout the Blues production showcases MLK Choir's commitment to providing passionate, inspired musical theater that ignites the human spirit.The cast is an all-volunteer cast with a few exceptions. Some of San Diego's finest paid musicians enhance the production.
