Public Service Announcement:
Until further notice, Hearing Officer meetings will be conducted pursuant to the provisions California Government Code section 54953(a), as amended by Assembly Bill 2249.
Hearing Officer meetings will be participating in-person and the meetings will be open for in-person testimony.
In lieu of in-person attendance, members of the public may participate and provide comment via telephone, ZOOM, using the Hearing Officer web form, or via U.S. Mail of written materials, as follows:

Senate Bill 343 (Late-Arriving Material): Pursuant to California Senate Bill 343 (Section 54957.5(b) of the Brown Act), late-arriving documents related to Hearing Officer meeting agenda items which are distributed to the legislative body prior to and during the meeting are available for public review at the Development Services Department Building, 1222 First Avenue, 3rd Floor, San Diego, CA 92101. This relates to those documents received after the agenda is publicly noticed and during the 72 hours prior to the start of the meeting.
For Discretionary Land Use-Related Projects
The City of San Diego's Hearing Officers are designated by the City Manager and continue under the new Strong Mayor form of government. The Hearing Officers preside over public hearings and act on items such as permits, maps, variances and other matters in accordance with the San Diego Municipal Code.
Hearing Officers are subject to the California Political Reform Act and the City's Ethics Ordinance and are required to file Statements of Economic Interest. They must disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from the Hearing if necessary.
Hearing Officers are also subject to due process requirements and must conduct hearings in an impartial manner. Therefore, it is inappropriate to contact Hearing Officers to discuss any item that will come before them in a hearing. If such contact occurs, Hearing Officers may be subject to recusal from that item.

When
Hearings are typically conducted twice a month on Wednesdays at 9 a.m.
Watch
The public may view the meetings at their scheduled time on YouTube or within 24 to 48 hours of the meeting depending upon technical streaming issues.
