Regional Coordination

The City shares storm water pollution prevention and other water quality improvement responsibilities with 17 other agencies in the region. Each of these agencies is a co-permittee along with the City and also required to conduct storm water pollution prevention efforts within local waterways.

The California Department of Transportation, the Port of San Diego and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority have joined the City of San Diego in the Think Blue education campaign. The County of San Diego, another Think Blue partner, hosts a regional hotline, where residents from across the county can call to report pollutant discharges into the storm drain system.
