General Applications
The City of San Diego requires permits for burglary, robbery, fire and harmful gas alarm systems for both residential and commercial properties. Alarm Permits & Payments
You may apply and pay your alarm permit fees online. You can also download, fill-in and print a downloadable application. Please review Municipal Code §33.3716 - Permit Revocation (PDF).

Police Permits
Certain types of business activities are required to obtain a Police Permit. Effective July 1, 2015, the Office of the City Treasurer began administering the application and photo ID process for Police Regulated business activities.
