Community Plan Updates

Mission Valley Community Plan Update

The Mission Valley Community Plan Update was initiated in June 2015. The update process will take approximately three years to complete. There will be many opportunities for community participation including public workshops and the formation of a subcommittee of the Mission Valley Planning Group, which will meet regularly throughout the plan development. The diagram below provides an overview of the anticipated community outreach process and timeline.

Community Kickoff Meeting Open House

Thank you to everyone that attended the Mission Valley Kickoff Workshop on June 30th at the Scottish Rite Center. Your input and opinions are a valued part of the planning process and will help directly shape the Mission Valley Community Plan Update. The workshop was the first of many opportunities for members of the community to discuss issues and opportunities related to Mission Valley.

Thank you, your time and feedback are greatly appreciated!

Mission Valley Community Plan Update Subcommittee (CPUS)

Throughout the Community Plan update process, community input will be provided at public meetings of an advisory committee formed for this purpose. The CPUS is a subcommittee of the Mission Valley Planning Group, the city’s recognized citizen’s group for Mission Valley.  The CPUS will be holding periodic public meetings to provide the City with feedback and advisory recommendations during the 3-year community plan update process.  Public participation is key to developing meaningful, community-specific recommendations for the new community plan.

The Mission Valley Planning Group will host a subcommittee interest meeting where ongoing community outreach for the Community Plan Update will be discussed. Attendance at this meeting is optional in regards to committee membership, but is encouraged. The interest meeting is scheduled for:

Friday, July 10, 2015

3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

If you are interested in serving as a member of the CPUS please review the Selection Procedures document, and submit a completed application form and proof of eligibility by July 24, 2015.

A publically-noticed lottery will be held to select the non-planning group members of the CPUS. Candidates must be present at the lottery to be selected.
