This oddly-shaped device is being used to deliver oxygen into a City reservoir, part of an effort to make additional water available for our region. The hi-tech object called a Speece Cone was carefully lowered from a barge to the bottom of Hodges Reservoir, located near Escondido. The reservoir provides drinking water to San Diego and other communities. Using the Speece Cone to inject oxygen will help improve water quality.
