The City of San Diego is pleased to provide a series of free informational presentations for City-serviced residents about the Organic Waste Recycling program and the new green bin and collection schedule. Please note that these are informational presentations only, and not where residents pick up green bins or kitchen pails.
These presentations are offered as virtual Zoom webinars or in-person workshops at select locations. In-person workshops will offer free compost for your garden and other giveaways. City-serviced residents are encouraged to register after they have received their official notifications from the City that their home will be receiving a green bin.

In a special collaboration, I Love A Clean San Diego, on behalf of the City of San Diego and the County of San Diego, is partnering to provide residents with fresh, free and nutrient-rich compost at an upcoming Compost Giveaway Event. In collaboration with I Love A Clean San Diego, the City and County invite residents to pick up free compost on Saturday, Oct. 11th, from 8 a.m. to noon at the historic Los Peñasquitos Ranch House, located next to Canyonside Park. This special collaboration helps San Diegans grow healthy gardens and support a more sustainable community.
