ABOUT
CREATIVE CITY

San Diego’s art and culture intrinsically reflects the people who live, work and visit here, vibrantly expressed in art’s many forms and practices. It shows up organically in street festivals and is curated in ground-breaking exhibitions. It is a creative impulse that drives everything from innovation to conversation.

And we have something extraordinary to say.

The City of San Diego is launching a cultural planning process to capture the power of our many traditions, ecologies, and creative capital to propel our city and transborder region forward as a more equitable place of inspiration and prosperity. It supports artists and creative inventions across sectors, fostering greater possibility and sustainability for us all. And it will align arts and culture with the priorities of the City government.

Over the course of the project timeline, San Diegans will be presented with multiple opportunities to inform the aspirations and goals of a future with culture and creativity at the center of our collective well-being and livelihood.
