The Move American campaign aims to register, motivate, and inspire potential voters in the lowest quartile of the California Healthy Places Index communities. The campaign highlights the voices of ten local dance-makers and their collaborators to inspire the public to vote and more deeply understand the role of civic engagement and voter rights in social justice, environmental justice, and health equity movements. Resources will encourage collaborative artists to think about their work in a campaign-oriented manner to launch a circuit of live events (in person and online) leading up to the election. The intent is to engage the community in direct conversation, activating resources and voter turnout through community partners and organizations.

DISCO RIOT

San Diego County

DISCO RIOT exists to elevate a collaborative art culture in San Diego and beyond — because the world needs more movement-based art. The organization connects dancers and artists who want to move themselves and audiences in ways that push boundaries to make high-impact art that promotes community, justice, and movement as a form of radical expression. DISCO RIOT produces and supports innovative dance programming, connects artists across media and form to grow and intensify community, and provides an educational space that reflects contemporary and progressive professional realities.
