Marie Widman Memorial Park GDP

Project Background

The Marie Widman Memorial Park, located in the Skyline-Paradise Hills Community Planning Area, is planned to be re-envisioned for the community's needs and updates to the existing park amenities. Public outreach and approval via a General Development Plan (GDP) Amendment are anticipated for this project phase. The park currently includes a comfort station, tot lot, picnic tables, drinking fountain, open lawn areas, walkways, security lighting, pedestrian bridges, a service road and a gymnasium.

Scope of Work

This project includes workshops and presentations for public input on the park's amenities and approval through the GDP amendment process.

GDP improvements may include:

New or renovated tot lots or playgrounds.
New special activity park, for example, a skate park, dog park, nature play area, etc.
New recreation building.
New outdoor amphitheater or stage.
New ADA-accessible walkways and park access points.
New sports courts.
New or renovated comfort station.
New picnic shade structures.
Future use of the existing gymnasium.
Security lighting.
Accessibility improvements.
Signage upgrades.

These requests shall be evaluated and, if appropriate, approved via the GDP Amendment process.

Consultant on-boarded: Winter 2023.
Community workshop process: Summer 2024 to fall 2025.
Anticipated GDP completion: Fall 2025.
