Beyer Park Project
Background
The project will construct a new 8-acre park on an approximately 43-acre site located in the San Ysidro Community, Council District 8, based on the approved General Development Plan (GDP) for the park.
Project Overview
The new 8-acre park will serve the communities of San Ysidro and Otay Mesa and will be constructed in phases. The first phase of construction is underway and includes:
- Children's playground area with a rock climbing wall.
- Picnic areas with shade structures.
- On-site parking lot.
- Basketball courts.
- Skate park.
- Adult fitness equipment.
- Walking paths.
- Site lighting.
- Public art.
- 14 acres of habitat restoration.
The second phase of the project will include:
- Multi-use turf fields.
- Sports field lighting
- Picnic areas with shade structures.
- Comfort stations.
- Dog park.
- Walking trails.
- Additional on-site parking.
- Site lighting.
