To manage substantial docketed City business the week of April 25, the regularly scheduled meeting at 2 p.m. will be adjourned.  The City Council will convene for a Special Meeting on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 11 a.m.  Councilmembers will consider the SAAFE Act which prohibits the sale of specified flavored tobacco products.

Item 600 - SAAFE Act:  Stop Adolescent Addiction to Flavored E-Cigarettes Act to Regulate the Sale of Flavored Tobacco in the City of San Diego – This item would approve an ordinance amending Chapter 3, Article 3, Division 45, and Chapter 5, Article 8, Division 3, all related to the sale and advertising of tobacco products and electronic cigarettes to persons under 21 years of age.  It also seeks to approve the SAAFE Act, an ordinance prohibiting the sale of specified flavored tobacco products in the City of San Diego.


 


 


City AuditorItem 601 - Consideration of a Resolution of the Council of the City of San Diego Setting Forth the Council’s Policy Direction Related to a Proposed Measure to Amend the City Charter to Establish a Process for Retention and use of Independent Legal Counsel by the Office of the City Auditor and Directing the City’s Management Team for Labor Relations to Meet and Confer, as Required by the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act - This is a resolution directing the City's management team for labor relations to engage in the meet and confer process on the mandatory subjects of bargaining related to the proposed measure to amend the Charter to establish a process for retention and use of independent legal counsel by the Office of the City Auditor and to return to the Council for a final determination on the proposed measure.
