Tuesday’s City Council meeting will be the first session after the legislative recess. Councilmembers will consider a marketing agreement downtown which is expected to provide $14.7 million in guaranteed minimum revenue for the initial 10-year term.

Item 30 - Liberty Station Centennial and USS Recruit Celebration Day honors the community of Liberty Station and the training ship which is now an exhibit celebrating the Centennial.
Item 31 – National Gun Violence Awareness Day pledges a commitment to reducing gun violence and asks people to wear orange on June 2 to raise awareness.

Item 330 - Fourth Amendment to Agreement with Meyers Nave Riback Silver & Wilson to Provide Continued Legal Services as Outside Panel Counsel
This item will be heard at the 10am session. This item would authorize the legal services agreement between the City and Meyers Nave Riback Silver & Wilson for continued legal services in connection with the ongoing litigation and appeals related to the utility relocation dispute with SDG&E, the reservoir spill lawsuit with Dr. Mehran Moussavian , and various other legal matters for which they are currently engaged that have not yet concluded in the previously authorized total amount not to exceed $1.2 million.
Item 331 - Fiscal Year 2024 Property and Business Improvement District Budget (PBID)
This item would approve the Annual Report for the Downtown PBID, which contains updates to the assessment rolls based on the County of San Diego’s latest property data and the district’s Fiscal Year 2024 budget. This action also authorizes the appropriation and expenditure of funds in accordance with the Annual Appropriation Ordinance, including PBID funds, for Downtown PBID.
Item 332 - Approval of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 San Diego Tourism Marketing District Report of Activities
This item would approve the FY 2024 San Diego Tourism Marketing District Report of Activities with an anticipated budget total of $70,352,541.
Item 333 - First Amendment to Agreement with Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP to Provide Continued Legal Services as Panel Outside Counsel
The City Attorney’s Office seeks approval of a First Amendment to the contract with the law firm to increase the total amount of time under the contract beyond five years and increase the total not-to-exceed amount to $850,000 from $250,000.
The increase of one year and $600,000 increase is needed to allow the firm to continue representing the City in Young v. City of San Diego, San Diego Superior Court case number 37-2020-00017371-CU-PA-CTL, a motor vehicle liability case involving a City driver and another motorist, scheduled for trial in February 2023.
Item 334 - Authorization of a Ten-Year Corporate Partnership Agreement Among the City of San Diego, Downtown San Diego Partnership, Inc. and IKE Smart City, LLC for a Digital Wayfinding System in Downtown San Diego, an Exemption from the City’s Prohibition Against Signs in the Right-of-Way and Off-Premises Messages, an Exemption from Certain Automatic Copy Regulations, an Exemption from Public Right-of-Way Permit Requirements, and Related Actions
The Corporate Partnerships Program within the Economic Development Department is proposing to enter into this Marketing Agreement with IKE Smart City, LLC and Downtown San Diego Partnership for the financing, implementation, management and operation of a digital wayfinding system downtown. This Partnership is anticipated to provide approximately $14,700,000 in guaranteed minimum General Fund revenue during the initial ten-year contract term.
This item passed in the Economic Development and Intergovernmental Relations Committee with a vote of 3-0.

Tema 333 - Primer cambio al acuerdo con Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP para proporcionar servicios legales continuos como asesor externo del panel
La Oficina del Fiscal de la Ciudad busca la aprobación de un primer cambio al contrato con el bufete de abogados para aumentar el tiempo bajo contrato más allá de cinco años y aumentar el monto total no excedente a $ 850,000 de $ 250,000.
