City AuditorItem 1 – Performance Audit of Workplace Safety and Workers’ Compensation – The objectives of this audit were to determine (1) whether the City effectively mitigates workplace safety hazards and prevents injuries and illnesses and (2) whether the City has adequate internal controls to mitigate the risk of waste, fraud, and abuse in workers' compensation claims.  The item seeks acceptance by the Audit Committee and forwarding to the City Council.


 


 


Item 2 - The Office of the City Auditor’s FY 2023 Proposed Budget – Under City Charter, the Audit Committee recommends to the City Council the annual compensation of the City Auditor and the annual budget for the Office of the City Auditor. This item is an update on what the Mayor has proposed for the City Auditor’s FY 2023 Budget and seeks a recommendation to the City Council to accept the budget.

Item 3 - Quarterly Fraud Hotline Activity Report – Fiscal Year 2022 Quarter 3 – The City Auditor reports the status of Fraud Hotline cases to the Audit Committee on a quarterly basis as required under San Diego Municipal Code § 26.1710 (d).


 


 


Item 4 - City Auditor’s Monthly Activity Report – This Monthly Activity Report provides information on the Office of the City Auditor’s activities as of March 31, 2022. This includes any audit reports issued during the month of March 2022, the status and stage of current audit projects, and a list of planned audits that have not yet started.
