Monday’s COVID-19 Response and Recovery Committee Meeting features an update on the Housing Stability Assistance Program.  Meanwhile, the City Council Meeting agenda contains one item: revisions to applications, inspections and licensing for police regulated business.

COVID-19 Response and Recovery Committee – October 18 – 9 a.m.


Two items are on the agenda of the CR & R Committee Meeting co-chaired by Council President Jennifer Campbell and Councilmember Marni Von Wilpert.


 


Item 1 - COVID-19 Housing Stability Assistance Program Information Update - The San Diego City Council and the Housing Authority of the City of San Diego authorized the creation of the COVID-19 Housing Stability Assistance Program on February 22, 2021.  The San Diego Housing will present an informational update about the Housing Stability Assistance Program, which helps pay rent and utilities for households with low income in the City of San Diego that experience financial hardship due to or during the COVID-19 pandemic.


 


Item 2 – County of San Diego Health and Human Services COVID-19 Update - Dr. Jennifer Tuteur, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Medical Care Services Division Lead, Healthcare Sector for Outreach and Education for the COVID-19 Response – County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency will give the Committee an update on vaccination rates, boosters, treatments, testing, and other topics related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

patch_of_the_san_diego_police_departmentItem 200 - Proposed Revisions to the Municipal Code Related to Inspections, Applications, Renewals, and Appeals for Police Permits - The San Diego Police Department’s Permits and Licensing Unit prevents illegal activity in police-regulated businesses and occupations by permitting, regulating, inspecting, and investigating businesses.  This item amends the San Diego Municipal Code related to the inspection, application, renewal, and appeal procedures for police permits issued for police-regulated businesses and occupations.  Some of the establishments that fall into this category include pawnbrokers, massage businesses, tobacco sellers, cardrooms and nude entertainment businesses.  These amendments will clarify where and when inspections are conducted, the application process, and the status of police permits pending regulatory action.  Chapter 3 of the Municipal Code can be found here.
