Monday’s Council meeting focuses on details the details of the short-term rentals ordinance and how property owners will obtain licenses.  The City Treasurer’s department will present details surrounding eligibility, fees and more.

City Council Meeting – October 11, 2021 – 2 p.m.


The Council will address two items on the agenda, both addressing Short-Term Residential Occupancy.

Item 200 – Short-Term Residential Occupancy, Tier 3 and 4 Lottery Methodology - As requested by City Council on February 23, 2021, this item is presents the lottery methodology for Tier 3 and Tier 4 Short-Term Residential Occupancy (STRO) license issuance.  Applications will be chosen via a random lottery for license issuance.  Hosts offering whole home STRO for an aggregate of more than 20 days per year are required to obtain a Tier 3 or Tier 4 license.  Staff will explain the methodology behind the lottery system.  This is an informational item.


 


Item 201 – Short-Term Residential Occupancy, Application and Licensing Fee – Staff proposes a waiver of a review by the Budget and Government Efficiency Committee for fees related to STRO’s.  This item would adopt fees for STRO Applications and Licenses and amend the Ratebook of City Fees and Charges maintained in the Office of the City Clerk.  The total one-time costs of $1.25 million are expected to be incurred in Fiscal Year 2022. The on-going costs of $6.87 million will be incurred in Fiscal Years 2023 and 2024.
