The renewed City Council Meeting Schedule begins with a 2:00 p.m. meeting on Monday.  On the agenda are two informational reports from the Office of the City Auditor providing recommendations for the City’s Handling of CARES Act Funding and Police Department Data Analysis.

City Council Meeting – September 13, 2021 – 2:30 p.m.

 

Three items fill the afternoon agenda.  Two provide information and the third requires a City Council discussion and vote.

 

City AuditorItem 200 – Performance Audit of the City’s Use of CARES Act Funding – The City spent over $250 million in Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) from the CARES Act in responding to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The CRF requires that expenditures be used for actions taken to respond to the public health emergency.  The Office of the City Auditor (OCA) will make four recommendations to retain institutional knowledge, fully comply with the City’s procurement procedures, and ensure eligibility for resident programs is fully documented.

Item 201 – Performance Audit of the San Diego Police Department’s Data Analysis – San Diego Police Department’s mission is to maintain public safety by providing the highest quality police services to all the City’s communities.  The Office of the City Auditor (OCA) found that SDPD can improve Its use of existing data to evaluate Its operations and maximize evidence-based decision making.  The OCA made a total of nine recommendations to improve crime reporting, RIPA reporting, data analysis, and the complaint process. SDPD agreed to implement all of them.

 

 

 

WestbourneItem 203 – Westbourne Small Lot Subdivision – Project No. 663879 - The project proposes a Coastal Development Permit, Site Development Permit, and Tentative Map.   It seeks to demolish an existing single dwelling unit and detached garage, subdivide two existing lots into four lots, vacate a utility easement, waive the requirement to underground existing off-site overhead utilities, and construct four new two-story single dwelling units over full basements with attached garages located at 460 Westbourne Street.
