The Polls

The location of your polling place is printed on the back cover of your sample ballot pamphlet, which will be mailed to all registered voters between October 6, 2008 and October 28, 2008. If you cannot locate your polling place, you may look it up on-line through the Registrar of Voters. You may also contact the Elections Section of the City Clerk's Office at (619) 533-4015 and we can help. We urge you to call before election day to avoid the rush.

Register to Vote

To vote in the November 4, 2008 General Election, you must be registered to vote no later than October 20, 2008. It is necessary to re-register if you have moved, changed your name, or if you change your political party affiliation. Voter registration forms are at post offices, libraries, schools, city and county offices, and at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

To Vote by Mail

Anyone may choose to vote by mail. An application is on the back of your sample ballot pamphlet. In order to vote by mail in the November 4, 2008 General Election, you must file your request with the Registrar of Voters by October 28, 2008.
