Post-Bar Clerks

The Civil Division of the San Diego City Attorney's Office is accepting applications for post-bar (July 2009) volunteer opportunities.

Job Description/Practice Areas

Clerks may be assigned to work on one specific case or will complete research and writing assignments in a variety of practice areas including, Municipal Law, Land Use, Litigation, Contracts, Civil Rights, Employment, etc. Clerks are exposed to the inner-workings of Municipal Government by attending City Council and Council Committee Meetings. In addition, when available, clerks are encouraged to attend depositions, court and administrative hearings, trials, and other proceedings.

Qualifications

The Civil Division is looking for post-bar (July 2009) clerks who are interested in working in a variety of practice areas and can commit to at least 20 hrs per week until December 2009 (start and end dates are flexible). We will be considering applicants in the top 50% of their class or at least 3.0 GPA.
