Wahida Hamdard

Intern

Wahida Hamdard is a Community Engagement Intern with the City of San Diego's Office of the Commission on Police Practices. She recently graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor's degree in International Security and Conflict Resolution, along with minors in Counseling and Social Change and Islamic and Arabic Studies.

Wahida is passionate about community engagement, advocacy, and public service. Throughout her academic and professional journey, she has worked with several nonprofit organizations supporting underserved communities and has contributed to research on Afghan youth mental health through the University of California San Diego. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to community outreach, cross-cultural collaboration, and equitable access to resources.

Wahida is dedicated to building meaningful relationships with the community and fostering trust through service and engagement. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and continue serving individuals and families through advocacy, mental health, and community-centered leadership.
