Dennis Brown is a native Chicagoan, who moved to San Diego in 1979. Mr. Brown had a 43-year career in public education. He was a classroom teacher for 12 years in grades 6 through High School, then became a Vice Principal in 1983 at Lincoln H.S, in San Diego. Mr. Brown worked briefly in Human Resources as a staffing administrator in 1986, before he became a principal at Taft Junior High School, Pershing Junior High School, and Kearny High School for over a decade. During that time, Mr. Brown also taught at National University and San Diego State University in their Schools of Education. In the early 2000s, Mr. Brown was the Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Lodi, CA and became Director of Secondary Education in Fremont, CA from 2006-2009. Mr. Brown also taught in the doctoral program at California State University, East Bay from 2009-2012.

Mr. Brown holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Two Masters Degrees in Special Education and Public Administration, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California. He is a proud father of 3, grandfather to 6 and great grandfather to 1.
