The California Colorectal Cancer Coalition (C4) is a nonprofit organization made up of a diverse group of dedicated individuals from throughout California whose mission is to save lives and reduce suffering from colorectal cancer in all Californians.

Funds raised through the “Screen Your Gut - Save Your Butt” run will be used for the C4 Community Grants Program that aims to increase screening to prevent colorectal cancer development and detect existing cancers earlier when the outcomes are more favorable for patients.

Curebound - Padres Pedal the Cause - Bound for Cures, returns on March 18, 2023 as an in-person fundraising event with 3 cycling distances and a 5k walk/fun run starting and finishing at Petco Park in downtown San Diego. All events are centered around our mission of accelerating cures for cancer, with 100% of dollars raised going directly to local cancer research. Participants register to fundraise in honor of survivors, fighters, or loved ones lost to cancer and participate for amazing, challenging, and inspiring experience. Padres Pedal the Cause accelerates cures for cancer by funding collaborative research and clinical trials among San Diego’s top cancer research and treatment centers.

Casa Familiar invites you to the second Annual Abrazo Awards, "Abrazo 5K Let's Go San Ysidro!", a community walk through San Ysidro on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 from 7:15am to 11am. 

This year, Casa Familiar celebrates its 50th year as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the community of San Ysidro and low-income individuals with the mission to enhance quality of life for low income individuals and families through Advocacy, Social Services, Education, Affordable Housing, Arts and Culture, a Community and Economic Development.

In light of recent events and our continued dedication to the fight for equity for all, we reshaped our Annual Abrazo Awards to focus on community and movement building to advance the movement towards justice and equity for communities like San Ysidro, and celebrate community champions and leaders who advance that movement.  

To prioritize the health and safety of all, we are planning a hybrid virtual and socially distanced 5k walk. We invite you to join us in whatever way you feel comfortable, in your neighborhood, on the treadmill, or alongside us in the heart of San Ysidro while following the County safety guidelines for COVID-19.

Details: Pre/post-event: we will utilize the grassy area between the parking lots at De Anza Cove Park for runner check-in and registration as well as for team meeting areas. We will utilize the grassy area south of the path at De Anza Cove Park for pre-race festivities consisting vendors and activity booths. Start/finish will be near the restrooms at the park, on the multi-use path.

Course: participants will head west on the multi-use path out of De Anza Cove Park and turn north onto the northbound lane of De Anza Road. They will take a right onto N. Mission Bay Drive in the eastbound lane. They will continue on in the southbound lane of Mission Bay drive until turning back into the park via the entrance to the parking lot south of Leisure Island (2194 E Mission Bay Dr). They will follow the multi-use path (Bayside Bikeway) north though the park, finishing at the starting location in De Anza Cove Park.

Water stops: water stops will be set up just south of the first small parking lot as one departs De Anza Cove on Mission Bay Drive. We plan to have one station on the road and one on the path as runners return in the park. An additional water stop and first aid tent will be placed at the turn off from Mission Bay Drive into the parking lot just south of Leisure Island (2194 E Mission Bay Dr).

The Crystal Pier Outrigger Canoe Race is a Southern California Outrigger Racing Association Race, hosted by Hanohano Canoe Club in San Diego, CA. The race is usually held at Crown Point within Mission Bay in San Diego, CA. Typically, the event draws 1500+ participants annually who battle in a 5 mile novice and kid’s race, 10 mile men, women and coed races in six person outrigger canoes.

The Silkies Hike is a fun, upbeat and positive environment. A slow paced walk through our host city, where veterans, active duty and reserve service members come together. We share stories, experiences, jokes and laughter. All in the name of making a positive impact to our community, culture and mental health. We encourage peer to peer engagement, networking, friendship and bonding together as we once knew it in the military. Filing our day to day lives after the hike with a strong sense of belonging and a coast to coast mental health support network.

Details: The Silkies Hike is a veteran only event where veterans can be with their peers, network and build support nets within the veteran community. Our mission is to prevent and reduce veteran suicide through active engagement.

The Hike (walk) will take place along the streets surrounding Liberty Station starting at NTC Park. On 05/27/2023 we will begin our registration process at 7:00AM and start our walk at 9:00AM. A Fast and Unique Figure Eight Crit Experience

Join in the thrill of fast-paced bicycle racing by pro racers, top-level amateurs and a fun children's cycling event at the Barrio Logan Grand Prix, one of Southern California's largest cycling events. The race is open to men and women of all ages, from professional and Olympic level cyclists to first-time racers. BLGP is the proud host of the SCNCA Junior Criterium Championships!

The 0.8-mile race course takes place in historic downtown Barrio Logan and will begin and end on Newton Avenue across from Perkins Elementary School. Spectators will have access to numerous views of the racers along city streets in the Barrio Logan area throughout the day.

A free bike safety rodeo for kids will be held from 09:30-11:30 offering free helmets supported by Performance Contracting, SANDAG iCommute, and Barrett Engineered Pumps. Bring your bike to participate in the free community kids race to the finish line at 11:40!

San Diego's second oldest race, and part of the local competitive Dirt Dogs Series for clubs and individuals. It has been renamed last year for Tom Bache, a local competitive runner and long-time San Diego Track Club member. This is a challenging four mile trail run along the west side of Balboa Park, following 6th ave, Bridle Trail, Marston Loop and Maple street area. The Run starts and finishes on the grass South of Quince street and west of Balboa drive. There are age group awards starting at under 12yrs, 18, 24 and then every 5 years up to over 80yrs.

In that pursuit Pacific Beach Tennis Club offers numerous adult racquet sport events throughout the year that offer opportunities to play, compete, meet, greet, trade conversation, eat and drink. The 2nd Annual Pacific Beach Half Marathon and the 11th Annual Pacific Beach 5K are taking over the beach on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Rally your crew for this one-of-a-kind San Diego race! Come on out and join the party on the beach!

The Pacific Beach Half Marathon is a point-to-point race starting at De Anza Cove in Mission Bay Park and ending with an epic beach finish in Pacific Beach! Runners will enjoy a scenic water front course where they will pass by Tecolote Shores, Hospitality Point, West Mission Bay Dr. Bridge and Mission Beach.

The walk route will begin on the walk path west of Preble Field, headed south, turning right on the walk path along the water. The route will turn around at the USS Recruit and continue back towards NTC Park, turning left at Farragut Road. The route will cut through the park on walking paths and exit at Womble Road heading north west. Walkers will turn right on Historic Decatur Road and continue until the road ends at the walking path. Walkers will turn right on the path to continue back to NTC Park. Walkers will remain on walking paths or sidewalks for the entirety, with course marshals closely monitoring safe crossing at all intersections. We do not intend to close any streets.

The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® is a 60-mile walk people committed to going the distance to end breast cancer. The course heads west around the dog park and returns along the south side of the tennis courts. Then back across Jacaranda and then Joe Schloss Way. That loop is 1.5 miles.
