Abrazo 5K/10K Community Walk/Run
Casa Familiar invites you to the second Annual Abrazo Awards, "Abrazo 5K Let's Go San Ysidro!", a community walk through San Ysidro on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 from 7:15am to 11am. This year, Casa Familiar celebrates its 50th year as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the community of San Ysidro and low-income individuals with the mission to enhance quality of life for low income individuals and families through Advocacy, Social Services, Education, Affordable Housing, Arts and Culture, a Community and Economic Development. In light of recent events and our continued dedication to the fight for equity for all, we reshaped our Annual Abrazo Awards to focus on community and movement building to advance the movement towards justice and equity for communities like San Ysidro, and celebrate community champions and leaders who advance that movement. Girls on the Run San Diego 5K
Each Girls on the Run season comes to an end with a celebratory 5K. Join us for our Spring 5K at De Anza Cove Park in Mission Bay on May 7, 2023 at 9am. This family friendly run is open to all levels and is not timed. Host Name: Girls on the Run San Diego |
Address: 3000 N Mission Bay Dr Course: participants will head west on the multi-use path out of De Anza Cove Park and turn north onto the northbound lane of De Anza Road. They will take a right onto N. Mission Bay Drive in the eastbound lane. They will continue on in the southbound lane of Mission Bay drive until turning back into the park via the entrance to the parking lot south of Leisure Island (2194 E Mission Bay Dr). They will follow the multi-use path (Bayside Bikeway) north though the park, finishing at the starting location in De Anza Cove Park. Water stops: water stops will be set up just south of the first small parking lot as one departs De Anza Cove on Mission Bay Drive. We plan to have one station on the road and one on the path as runners return in the park. An additional water stop and first aid tent will be placed at the turn off from Mission Bay Drive into the parking lot just south of Leisure Island (2194 E Mission Bay Dr). |

The Crystal Pier Outrigger Canoe Race is a Southern California Outrigger Racing Association Race, hosted by Hanohano Canoe Club in San Diego, CA. Barrio Logan Grand Prix
A Fast and Unique Figure Eight Crit Experience Join in the thrill of fast-paced bicycle racing by pro racers, top-level amateurs and a fun children's cycling event at the Barrio Logan Grand Prix, one of Southern California's largest cycling events. The race is open to men and women of all ages, from professional and Olympic level cyclists to first-time racers. BLGP is the proud host of the SCNCA Junior Criterium Championships! 58th Tom Bache Balboa 4 Mile XC Race
San Diego's second oldest race, and part of the local competitive Dirt Dogs Series for clubs and individuals. It has been renamed last year for Tom Bache, a local competitive runner and long-time San Diego Track Club member. This is a challenging four mile trail run along the west side of Balboa Park, following 6th ave, Bridle Trail, Marston Loop and Maple street area. Fiesta Island Time Trial
Fiesta Island Time Trials is San Diego's original time trial series since 1968, sponsored by San Diego Bicycle Club. Time trials are known as the race of truth, it is the cyclist against the clock. Athletes select category and distance, 3 laps (20km) or 6 laps (40km) around Fiesta Island, juniors will ride one or two laps. Single riders, tandems, and teams all compete for top honors and island records. An awards ceremony will be held after the last athlete finishes. Top six finishers in each category will be eligible to earn points towards series competition. Awards will be given to series winners at the last race of the series. The race is held rain or shine! There are 150 riders maximum per day, and the event sells out very early. Entry is on a first come, first served basis. Sign up early online at WebScorer.com at a discounted price. Registration the day of the race is at full price. The registration table opens at 6:00 AM and closes at 6:45 AM. First racer is off at 7:00:30 AM subsequent racers start at 30 second intervals. Fiesta Island Time Trial
Fiesta Island Time Trials is San Diego's original time trial series since 1968, sponsored by San Diego Bicycle Club. Time trials are known as the race of truth, it is the cyclist against the clock. Athletes select category and distance, 3 laps (20km) or 6 laps (40km) around Fiesta Island, juniors will ride one or two laps. Single riders, tandems, and teams all compete for top honors and island records. An awards ceremony will be held after the last athlete finishes. Top six finishers in each category will be eligible to earn points towards series competition. Awards will be given to series winners at the last race of the series. The race is held rain or shine! Pacific Beach Tennis Club's members are extremely important to us, and we strive to help our members create wonderful relationships, memories, to relax, and to just have fun through tennis. In that pursuit Pacific Beach Tennis Club offers numerous adult racquet sport events throughout the year that offer opportunities to play, compete, meet, greet, trade conversation, eat and drink. This includes tournaments, leagues, exhibitions, parties, promotions, and celebrations – all of which help to create a sense of community with strong and long lasting friendships. Regardless of one’s tennis or pickleball level or ability, members are always welcome to participate in our sports and social events.
