In light of recent events and our continued dedication to the fight for equity for all, we reshaped our Annual Abrazo Awards to focus on community and movement building to advance the movement towards justice and equity for communities like San Ysidro, and celebrate community champions and leaders who advance that movement.  

To prioritize the health and safety of all, we are planning a hybrid virtual and socially distanced 5k walk. La Jolla Mutt Strut 2023 is a community dog walk and an after-party that will take place on Saturday, May 13 at La Jolla Rec Center from 10 am to 12 noon. Fiesta Island Time Trials is San Diego's original time trial series since 1968, sponsored by San Diego Bicycle Club. Our title sponsor UC Cyclery will provide onsite mechanical support, and prizes. The La Jolla Half Marathon and La Jolla Shores 5K are point to point races along the scenic coastline of San Diego. This is our 35th annual Patriots Day parade. It is a community parade with music from the high school and middle school bands as well as the Marine Corps Band. School principals, school clubs, youth groups including baseball Little league teams, soccer teams, softball teams, girl scouts, boy scouts usually participate in the parade. The political figures representing our area are invited and we supply convertibles for them that local residents offer. It has been a lot of fun for the community.
