PRINCIPAL PERFORMANCE AUDITOR

Shawneé Pickney joined the Office of the City Auditor in April 2012. Her prior professional experience includes working at the California State Auditor’s Office, as well as, working in the education and social services sectors. While in those sectors, she provided policy analyses for issues affecting youth and families in foster care and developed educational programs focused on college readiness, financial literacy, and reading proficiency. During her tenure in the City Auditor’s Office, Shawneé has conducted audits that include reviews of the Convention Center, Parks and Recreation playground maintenance, utility undergrounding, Personnel hiring practices, and the Public Utilities Department. Shawneé is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and Association of Local Government Auditors.  She has a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies with a Minor in Sociology from Columbia University.
