Mario Mesquita is an interdisciplinary, socially-engaged artist and educator. His work examines relationships, identity, knowledge sharing, and the social boundaries created within the context of community spectrums through social practices, dialogue, and visual representation. Mesquita earned his MFA in Public Practice from Otis College of Art and Design and received a fellowship from the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture Leadership Program. He has worked with and exhibited at several institutions, including the City of Santa Monica, the San Diego Art Institute, the Museum of Latin American Art, and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. Mesquita is a founding member of the Michelada Think Tank, presented at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, Open Engagement Conference, and Common Field.
