The People’s Business – April 15, 2022

Monday kicks off a busy week at the City Council will five committee and two City Council Meetings. The COVID-19 Response and Recovery Committee starts early at 8 a.m. and features an updated on the Housing Stability Assistance Program and small business relief programs.  In the afternoon, the Mayor presents his FY 2023 proposed budget at City Council.

Item 1 - COVID-19 Response Update for Economic Development Department programs – This is an informational item intended to update the committee on the Economic Development Department’s  progress related to COVID-19 programs.  The report will include updates on Small Business Relief programs, the Small Business and Nonprofit Relief Grant Fund, Microdistrict Capacity Building Grants, Back to Work SD and other programs.

Item 2 - COVID-19 Housing Stability Assistance Program Informational Update – The San Diego Housing Commission will present an informational update about the City of San Diego COVID-19 Housing Stability Assistance Program, which launched March 15, 2021, and helps pay rent and utilities for households with low income in the City of San Diego that experience financial hardship due to or during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Item 3 - County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency COVID-19 Pandemic and Case Rate Update – Jennifer Tuteur, MD. Deputy Chief Medical Officer County of San Diego will provide an update on COVID-19 case and vaccine rates, recent changes in public health guidance, information on variants, and any additional essential information on behalf of the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency.

Item 200 - Presentation of the Mayor’s Fiscal Year 2023 Proposed Budget - In accordance with Charter section 69(c), the Mayor is required to propose a budget to the City Council and to make that budget available to the public no later than April 15. This is an informational presentation of the Mayor's Fiscal Year 2023 Proposed Budget.  Please refer to the Fiscal Year 2023 Proposed Budget available on the City of San Diego’s website.
