Councilmember Tony Young, City officials and community members celebrated the groundbreaking of the street realignment project that will make it easier for traffic to travel from National Avenue to San Pasqual Street.

The 43rd Street Realignment Project will re-configure the non-standard intersection along 43rd Street, bounded by National Avenue, Logan Avenue, and San Pasqual Street. "These traffic improvements will aid in pedestrian safety and improve the traffic flow in this busy intersection," said Tony Heinrichs, Interim Director of the Engineering and Capital Projects Department.

In addition to the roadway improvements, the aged sewer, water and storm drain infrastructure will be replaced within the realignment, and new storm water pollution control measures will be implemented.
