Carmel Mountain Ranch Park Visitors Enjoy New Playground

January 31, 2011

Council member Carl DeMaio, former San Diego Councilman Brian Maienschein, community members and staff from Engineering & Capital Projects and Park & Recreation Departments held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new state-of-the-art play area in the Carmel Mountain Ranch Community Park. "We installed a brand new playground that offers many more activities to the kids, we made the play area safer by adding a rubber surface around it, and we made overall improvements to make the play area more accessible and usable," said Tony Heinrichs, Interim Director of the Engineering and Capital Projects Department. The Carmel Mountain Ranch Park Play Area Upgrade Project began construction in late October 2010, and cost approximately $380,000. The project was made possible in part by a grant from the State of California.
