Rancho Bernardo Community Park - Phase I, Dog Park & ADA Improvements

Background

The two-phase project will improve Rancho Bernardo Community Park, located in the Rancho Bernardo community, Council District 5. Phase I consists of off-leash dog area and ADA improvements. Phase II consists of improved security and sports field lighting and infrastructure for future EV parking. This project aligns with the City Strategic Plan's Priority Areas & Outcomes: Protect & Enrich Every Neighborhood.

Project Overview

The scope of work of Phase I features several enhancements to the dog park, including installing three steel shade shelters, an 8-to-10-foot-wide synthetic turf strip, hose bibs, shade trees, drinking fountains, boulders, log agility features and a snake protection fence.

Additionally, the scope of work for Phase I includes broader park improvements and accessibility upgrades, such as installing new curb ramps, sidewalks, chain-link fencing, accessible parking spaces, site furnishings, and associated irrigation and landscaping enhancements.
