Ruth Torres

Born and raised in San Diego, Ruth serves as the Director of Office Administration and Scheduling for Council District 2. In this role, she handles Councilmember Campbell’s scheduling and manages her calendar. Ruth oversees the office’s correspondence and administrative tasks.

Before joining City Hall, Ruth worked as an Administrative Assistant for United Domestic Workers of America, UDW/AFSCME Local 3930. In this role, her duties revolved around managing and distributing information within the office, answering phones, taking memos and maintaining files. Also, oversaw sending and receiving correspondence, as well as greeting and assisting members. Ruth holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Management from Kelsey Jenney Business College.

As an active member of her local church, Ruth spends time out of the office volunteering with her community members. Ruth is passionate about the environment and loves to go to the beach. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors along with her husband JC and grandchildren.
