United in Trust: A Police and Community Learning Academy is a seven-session community engagement program designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities we serve. Hosted by the San Diego Police Department’s Community & Youth Services Division, the academy aims to create a welcoming space for open dialogue, shared learning, and meaningful conversation.

Throughout the academy, participants engage directly with officers and subject-matter experts to gain insight into law enforcement practices, community concerns, and collaborative approaches to public safety. The program emphasizes transparency, mutual respect, and trust-building, while encouraging participants to ask questions, share perspectives, and develop a deeper understanding of one another.
