Waterfall Rehabilitation Project

Sunday, December 7, 2025, 9:00 - 11:00am

"Waterfall Rehabilitation Project"
This project focuses on the continuing care for our habitat restoration site at the Waterfall in Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve, keying in on native prairie and pollinator species. We’ll be watering installed plants through establishment, removing invasive species and expanding the site little by little, with the intention of improving the area’s biodiversity, ecological health and resilience. Park at the trailhead of your choice and enjoy a morning hike to meet Ranger Haley and Senior Ranger Gina at the project site.

Date and Time
Second Saturday of the month, 9:00am-11:00am (reoccurring monthly)

Location
North Main Trail at the Waterfall in Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve, 32.92774, -117.17733. We recommend parking at the trailhead at the end of Park Village Rd. (32.93883, -117.16863) and hiking 1.3 miles to the Waterfall—it’s the shortest, easiest way, taking approximately 20-30min, depending on your pace. Click here for a Google map of the project site. Or, use the listed coordinates in any other mapping software you prefer.
