Mira Mesa Boulevard is one of the City of San Diego’s most heavily-trafficked roads with more than 50,000 vehicles utilizing the boulevard daily. Smart stoplight systems “talk” to each other and adjust accordingly to maximize traffic flow.

"From day one, I have been a staunch advocate for smart stoplights. We are investing 1.4 million dollars in District 6 with this cutting-edge technology. My constituents have been asking for a solution to this problem, and I am pleased that we have found one," said Councilmember Chris Cate.
